Dateline NBC, a weekly television newsmagazine, will be taping the trial of Tom Zich for a future episode of the program, which usually airs on Friday nights. Zich is accused of killing his wife, Mary Jane, of Genoa, in 1991.

“We have been given permission to shoot the trial, so we will be covering it,” Liz Brown, a producer for Dateline, told The Press last week.

The Oregon City Schools board of education has launched a new Web site which features improved navigation and additional features.

“The initial feedback has been overwhelmingly positive,” said Nathan Quigg, the district’s  technology director.

Twenty-five years after the breakup of AT&T, consumers have seen significant changes in how they make telephone calls, what they pay and the services they receive.

The telephone monopoly agreed in a 1982 settlement with the U.S. Department of Justice to break itself into seven companies, called Baby Bells, to provide local telephone services by region. AT&T kept its long-distance service, then its most profitable division. The agreement went into effect in 1984.

The Great Lakes Lighthouse Keepers Association and Toledo Lighthouse Society are offering a reward of $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of vandals who stole the dock, ramp and lift of the Toledo Lighthouse at some time between April 9 - 11.

The 4’ by 40’ aluminum ramp, which weighed 1,200 lbs., and the 8’ by 28’ dock, installed in October, 2008, allowed public access to the historic lighthouse. They remained in an elevated position throughout the winter.
