Oregon auto title branch on Navarre to re-open

J. Bernie Quilter, Lucas County Clerk of the court of common pleas, will reopen the Oregon branch automobile and watercraft division office on Monday now that the state legislature has increased the title fee from $5 to $15. The adjustment takes effect on July 1.

The branch, at 3034 Navarre Avenue, along with the branch at Heatherdowns, closed January 30, due to budgetary restraints. The workload of the branches was shifted to the remaining branches at Madison Avenue, Toledo, and N. McCord Road, Sylvania.

 
$41 million in Envirosafe’s perpetual care fund

There is $41.2 million in Envirosafe Services of Ohio, Inc.’s perpetual care fund, Oregon Law Director Paul Goldberg told city council last Monday.

Councilman James Seaman had inquired about the fund at a special council meeting on April 20.

 
Millbury man receives the Keith Dressel Scholarship

David Sims Jr. of Millbury was awarded the $500 Detective Keith Dressel Memorial Scholarship by the Owens Community College Alumni Association.

Sims Jr. received the scholarship at the Outstanding Service Awards held at Owens on April 24.

The 2006 St. Francis De Sales graduate doesn’t take the honor lightly.
