Assistant county administrator named
The Wood County commissioners have appointed Joseph Fawcett of Bowling Green as the new assistant county administrator. Fawcett’s duties will include managing the county budget preparation process and monitoring appropriations, overseeing and supervising fiscal and clerical staff.
The Genoa school board has a potential buyer for the Brunner Elementary School building but the deal requires rezoning of the school property.
“We have accepted a buyer’s offer but the deal is contingent upon a zoning change,” said Superintendent Dennis Mock Wednesday. “Right now it is zoned R-1 and the buyer would like it rezoned B-1, like for a small business.”
Early last spring, thieves stole over $14,000 in gaming accessories and movies from Flint Hills Graphics at 657 Main Street, East Toledo.
The thieves broke in on a Thursday night, and owner Frank Riddle discovered the back door busted open when he arrived the next morning and nearly everything gone inside.
The Toledo Fire and Rescue Arson Investigative Unit continue to examine multiple fires that have occurred throughout the city and are asking for residents’ help.
The department was offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information leading to an arrest of individuals involved, but late Thursday police had a breakthrough and arrested an arson suspect, 18-year-old Joshua Havermale of 502 Potter Street, East Toledo.
