The City of Northwood and the city’s VFW are planning on a public music event on July 22 at the outside pavilion of VFW post 2984 at 102 W. Andrus Road.

It’s part of the city’s effort to provide more outside non-sports related excursions for residents.

Lidl, based in Germany, has been negotiating with small businesses in the plaza for several months.

Oregon gets ready for new ozone water treatment 
Last week, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicted that Western Lake Erie will experience a significant Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB) this summer. Oregon’s Harmful Algal Bloom infrastructure improvement project will be ready to make sure microcystin, a toxin released from HAB, does not get into the water supply.
The $15 million project, which will treat water with ozone, has been under construction at the water treatment plant for months. It will be completed this summer.

 About 14 plates under manhole covers in the Millbury area have been intentionally damaged, resulting in storm water draining into sanitary sewer lines, according to the Northwestern Water & Sewer District, which has reported the damage to the Lake Township Police Department.

 And on July 28 residents will have their chance to do just that at an open house to mark Stoiber’s retirement after 36 years of working for the village.
