A paragraph in a letter to the editor May 14 from Joann Schiavone about fracking was inadvertently left out:
Republicans and drillers will say it will provide 870,000 jobs by 2015. Ask them to show you the car-fax. Just remember residents what you will transform if you agree to fracking on your property. Gas tankers clog the two-lane roads and drilling rigs dot the horizon. Large water tanks will be needed to help people whose water goes bad. These oil and gas companies will paint a picture for you, and once you sign that lease for them to drill you have put your and your family at risk – making perhaps $81,000 – but now you have a home you can’t sell for $25,000. Do the math. Our Congressman Bob Latta of the 5th Congressional District is for this. Remember this when you vote.

Walbridge Village Council has approved the hiring of its police chief to fill the vacant administrator’s position.
Council unanimously approved a motion Wednesday to appoint Ken Frost to the position on a temporary basis.
A new contract between Genoa and AMP-Ohio will allow the village to add wind turbine electricity to its service portfolio.
Genoa is one of several hundred members of the AMP-Ohio consortium and its involvement allows the village to buy power at competitive rates from a number of different sources.
