Deb Hahn and her family last week were frantically looking for Bella, their seven-year-old Lhasa Apso that went missing from their yard in the 7000 block of Corduroy Road on the evening of June 22.
“We’re not sure how she got out, but she somehow got out of the yard. She’s always been in a fenced in yard. Even when we’re out with her, she’s never run,” said Hahn.
By Paula Staudinger, of Curtice, is seeking the public’s help in finding her dog, Tia, an eight-year-old female Labrador/German Shepherd mix that went missing on June 20 from Oak Harbor Pet Haven, a boarding kennel in Oak Harbor on State Route 19.
Although the Ottawa County Fair has been hit hard financially the past two years – which organizers blame largely on poor weather – there will be a 2012 fair.
The 48th Ottawa County Fair will be July 16-24.
Members of the Senior Fair Board have issued a statement to address “many rumors and stories floating around” involving the fair.
If you happened to make it out to Harbor View Yacht Club’s annual regatta, you would have seen some members and visitors parading around in comic tee-shirts — “See How Far 60 Years Will Get You” — celebrating the club’s 60th anniversary.
It’s an anniversary that sort of snuck-up on some of the club membership this year. But nonetheless, the club is celebrating the 60-year milestone, meanwhile other longtime members are using the time to talk about the way things use to be.
A lot of i’s need to be dotted and quite a few t’s need to be crossed, but Cardinal Stritch Catholic High School could be using solar power in the very near future.
“In a perfect world, sometime this fall,” said Kevin Parkins, vice president of advancement at Cardinal Stritch and Kateri Catholic Academy.
