Oregon Councilman James Seaman, who is running for Lucas County Recorder, is proposing that the Recorder’s and Auditor’s offices share services as a “one stop shop.”
The shared services arrangement, he said, would help ease the burden of taxpayers.
For new Northwood Fire Chief Joel Whitmore, becoming a firefighter, much less a fire chief, has been a lifelong dream come true.
“It was always something I wanted to do, even as a kid,” Whitmore said. “I just always thought it would be cool to be a fireman. I joined the fire department when I graduated from Northwood High School in 1988.”
A developer’s application to re-plat a Lake Township subdivision that was submitted in April of last year to the Wood County Planning Commission may finally be decided now that the county prosecutor’s office has weighed in on the matter.
DMWW Properties LLC submitted the request for parcels in the Freedom Estates subdivision, asking the planning commission to approve re-platting two residential lots covering about 1.66 acres. The developer also requested a variance for an open green space in the subdivision equal to about 80 percent of what is required under the county’s regulations for subdivisions.
A survey of residents in East Toledo’s Birmingham neighborhood revealed that 32 percent of residents have experienced vandalism in a six-month period.
Twenty-eight percent experienced vandalism or theft inside their home, and 50 percent know of a neighbor who was a victim.
