Local officials were among those who testified recently in favor of a bill pending in the Ohio House of Representatives that would expand patrol jurisdiction on interstate highways to include police departments in townships with populations of 5,000 or more.

Current law restricts officers in townships of less than 50,000 from patrolling on interstate roadways.

To get a preview of what to expect this harvest season, the Ohio Ag Net and Ohio’s Country Journal team once again went on the I-75/I-71 Ohio Crop Tour presented by AgroLiquid Fertilizers.

On the tour, two teams of farmers, agronomists and OCJ/OAN staff crisscrossed I-75 and I-71 reporting crop conditions and yield estimates on Aug. 16 and 17. The teams started in the north and met at the end in Clinton County. During the two days, each team sampled a representative corn and soybean field in more than 20 counties (for a total of more than 40 counties during the two days).

Hohenbrink, now 91, was serving aboard the USS Bracken (Amphibious Personnel Assault-64), a Gilliam-class attack transport, when the announcement came.

The number of people now working in clean energy industries throughout Ohio is 105,443 people, a more than four percent increase since 2015, according to an analysis released today by Clean Energy Trust (CET) and the national nonpartisan business group Environmental Entrepreneurs (E2).

Job growth across sectors including renewable energy generation, advanced grid, energy efficiency, clean fuels, and advanced transportation is occurring almost six times faster than overall job growth in the state.
