Velvet glass vocals Four sisters. Four instruments. Four-part harmony. Eight dancing feet.
The Maidens IV will take the stage at the historic Pemberville Opera House April 4 at 7:30 p.m., as part of the ongoing “Live in the House” series.
Full of spirited talent and unbridled Celtic fire, Maidens IV promise to mesmerize their audiences with enchanting vocals, exquisite dancing, amazing fiddling and brilliant unguarded sincerity in their original compositions and performance.
Growing up in a musical family of 11, Havilah, Heather, Abigail and Tabitha Justice began performing in their family quintet at a young age. In 2003, a duo with the two older sisters sparked the Maidens band into existence and it quickly climbed to III and IV with the addition of each younger sister.
The skillful beat of Havilah’s violin, Abigail’s vibrant yet thundering viola, the soft flames of Tabitha’s guitar combined with Heather’s crystal leads and heartbeat of the Irish drum, set the stage for velvet glass sister vocals and a live acoustic fire.
By 2006, the Maidens had completed their first full-length album, Charm & Fire, with Four Aflame and Emerald Fire soon to follow in 2007 and 2008.
Tapping a resounding path of musical celebration throughout Ohio, Michigan, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and beyond, these maidens of the Ohio heartland have danced across the stages of amphitheaters, concert halls and Irish and folk festivals, delighting the young and old alike.
Tickets are $10 and are available at Beeker’s General Store in Pemberville and by contacting Carol at 419-287-4848 or
