Lifestyle, dietary changes can ease morning sickness

Nausea and vomiting are common in early pregnancy and affect an estimated 70 to 85 percent of pregnant women. Often referred to as “morning sickness,” pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting can actually occur at any time during the day or night.

Health, human services help available at United Way’s 2-1-1
On February 11 (2/11), United Way 2-1-1 will join people across the country in celebrating National 2-1-1 Day.

2-1-1 is an easy-to-remember three-digit phone number that connects callers to health and human services available in their community. United Way 2-1-1 also provides resources for people calling to give help.

Give blood, give life

There is one New Year’s resolution you can fulfill in just about an hour of time: donate blood.

By giving blood through the American Red Cross, eligible donors can help save the lives of up to three people, and help offset the slump in blood collections that typically occurs post holidays.
