Screenings planned for National Memory Screening Day

In observance of National Memory Screening Day – an annual initiative of the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) – the Wood County Senior Center will provide private and confidential memory screenings Nov. 19 from 1-3 p.m. The center is located at 305 N. Main St., Bowling Green.

In addition, from 1 p.m.-2 p.m., featured speaker Lynn Dennie of Waugh Consulting will discuss “Exercise, Memory and You.”

Benefit planned for Genoa native
A benefit will be held Sunday, Nov. 17 for Genoa native Jonathan Everett, who has been diagnosed with Acute Promyelocytic Leukemia.

Everett was diagnosed Aug. 28, 2013 – his 30th birthday. He was in the Cleveland Clinic for four weeks, where he underwent high-dose chemotherapy and multiple blood transfusions. Currently, he is home and is about to start 12 weeks of outpatient chemotherapy, which will be followed by oral chemotherapy for a year.
