Woodmore fall sports teams are bringing awareness and to get donations for ovarian cancer, breast cancer and cystic fibrosis.

The Wildcat football team commenced its season with a big win against opponent Port Clinton, while showing off teal socks and teal stickers on their helmets to support ovarian cancer. The student section and cheerleaders were also involved in the night’s awareness by incorporating teal into their attire.

Sergeant Michael Powell of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office spoke to Woodmore Middle School students Sept. 10, presenting a stern and very serious message that drugs and alcohol are very dangerous.

Powell also stressed heavily that if students know someone who is abusing drugs or alcohol they should get them help immediately.

Camille Estelle Osborn, of Woodville, was born a fighter. The daughter of Kyle and Casey Osborn and sister to her older brother Kaden, 3, Camille has had a long and tough first 19 months of life.

Born Feb. 19, 2012, the little one has already had her kidneys removed because of a disease known as Autosomal Recessive Polycystic Kidney Disease. At birth, Camille’s kidneys were the size of an adult’s kidneys and covered in cysts.
