The helmets were purchased by the St. Charles Foundation for the Trauma Program. “The safety of our children is very important. Wearing a bike helmet reduces the risk of brain injury by as much as 88 percent,” said Nicole Blake-Knepper, St. Charles Trauma Coordinator.
After being fitted with a helmet, children were instructed to wear their helmets when riding their bikes, scooters, skates and skateboards.
Anyone in need of a bike helmet for his or her child may call Blake-Knepper at 419-696-7301.
