Riverview HealthCare Campus’ nine therapists and therapy assistants have been working on new programs that have been very successful in speeding up the recovery process on short stay patients.

One of the programs recently initiated at the center is the “Claudia Allen” program, which is an assessment tool used to determine a more accurate picture of what help patient will need at home in order to maintain optimal independence.

Other programs offer help with pain management, fall prevention, incontinence, arthritis management and joint replacement therapy.

Riverview has successfully returned nearly 200 patients back to the community this year. The average stay is less than 30 days.

Younger patients are becoming more and more common, according to Mindy Wiciak, the rehab center’s therapy director said, noting that more and more hospitals are sending patients to facilities that specialize in rehabilitative services.

Riverview HealthCare Campus is located at 8180 W. SR 163 in Oak Harbor. Call 419-898-2851 for more information.

Riverview HealthCare Campus therapists have initiated the “Claudia Allen” program to help assess a patient’s needs for maintaining independent functioning at home.
