Twenty-five persons from three area counties have been indicted for their alleged involvement in a cocaine ring operating in Northwest Ohio.

The indictments stem from an investigation that has spanned several years by agents with the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation, the sheriff departments in Ottawa and Sandusky counties, and Fremont City Police Department.

Those indicted last week are:
Sandusky County Common Pleas Court

Chavis J. Freeman, 3 counts trafficking in cocaine; Juan J. Gonzalez, 3 counts trafficking in cocaine and engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity; David B. Swartz, trafficking in counterfeit controlled substance and cocaine; Jeremy J. Homler, trafficking in counterfeit controlled substance and cocaine; Roberto Sanchez, 3 counts trafficking in cocaine and trafficking in crack cocaine; Tyson L. Jones, 3 counts trafficking in cocaine; Amber L. Stevenson, 2 counts trafficking in cocaine, permitting drug abuse, engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Leon Garza, 5 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine, engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Juan Vincent Lopez, 3 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in cocaine; William Perez, 5 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine, engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Juan Castillo-Sweet, complicity to trafficking and trafficking in cocaine; Keith Gschwind, 4 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine, engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Rory Sipperly, 4 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine, engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Eusebio Ariola, Jr., 3 counts trafficking in cocaine, engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Cameron Allen, 2  counts trafficking in cocaine and complicity to trafficking, and engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Steve Diaz, 2 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine, trafficking in cocaine, and engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Emmanuel Heidelberg, 2 counts trafficking in cocaine, complicity to trafficking, and engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Louis Burnett, 2 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine and engaging in pattern of corrupt activity; Joyce Burnett, 2 counts complicity to trafficking in cocaine and engaging in pattern of corrupt activity, and Andrea Obergon, trafficking in cocaine.


Wood County Common Pleas Court
John D. Anderson and Rafael Gonzales were both indicted for possession cocaine.


Ottawa Common Pleas Court
Roberto Espinoza, 2 counts trafficking in cocaine and complicity to trafficking; Patricia Jones, 3 counts trafficking in cocaine, and Carlos Espinoza, 5 counts trafficking in cocaine.
Sandusky County Sheriff Kyle Overmyer said he was involved in the investigation before becoming sheriff and Steve Levorchick, Ottawa County Sheriff, credited “the cooperative efforts of many law enforcement agencies” for the bust.


Fremont Police Chief Tim Wiersma and Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine also attended the announcement which was made in Fremont.
