An investigation into the March 26 fire that heavily damaged a Hanley Road home in Lake Township hasn’t determined the cause of the blaze, said Mark Hummer, township police chief.

The chief said township personnel and the Ohio Fire Marshal’s office conducted the investigation of the home at 3890 Hanley Road.

Fire crews were dispatched at about 3:30 p.m. and had the fire under control in less than 30 minutes.

Chief Hummer estimated the damage at about $50,000.

There were no injuries and the two parents and five children living in the home, which is uninhabitable, have been receiving assistance from the Red Cross.

Firefighters from Northwood, Troy Township, and the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District assisted.

Chief Hummer said Wednesday he’s asked the Wood County Health Department to inspect the home
