Lake advisory council needs members
The council consists of 19 members ranging in background from engineers, developers, realtors, researchers, conservationists, shoreline property owners, dive enthusiasts, public officials and others with an interest in Lake Erie. The mission is to advise the director of ODNR on the Ohio Coastal Management Program and encourage the wise use of Lake Erie’s coastal resources.
Interested applicants should contact the ODNR Office of Coastal Management at 419-626-7980 or visit www.ohiodnr.com/coastal and select the logo link for the Coastal Resources Advisory Council Applicants should select the “Apply for Council” link, then download and complete the necessary forms.
The council meets quarterly at locations along Lake Erie, offering the public an opportunity to learn about important lake-related topics, as well as offer ideas and concerns relative to lake issues. The next Coastal Resources Advisory Council meeting Feb. 9 at 10 a.m. at the ODNR Division of Wildlife Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve,2514 Cleveland Road East, Huron, O.
An agenda will be posted on the web site prior to the meeting.
Families and community members are invited to give their input on the plan.

It will be the 2012 organizational meeting along with any regular business to come before the Trustees.
Due to scheduling conflicts, the regular monthly meeting of the Wood County Board of Park Commissioners scheduled for Jan. 9 will be held Jan. 17 at 4 p.m. at the Park District Headquarters.
New board members will be sworn in and a next board president will be elected. After the organizational meeting the board will hold a budget hearing.
The Benton-Carroll-Salem school board will hold its organizational meeting Jan. 5at 6 p.m. in the board, 11685 W. St. Rt. 163, Oak Harbor.
