Humane Ohio, a non-profit group that offers low-cost spay/neuter to pet owners, is sponsoring a “Pet Photos with Santa” fundraiser on Saturday, December 3rd from 10 am – 5 pm at Pet Supplies “Plus” Alexis (849 W. Alexis, Toledo 43612) and on Sunday, December 4th from 10 am – 2 pm at Pet Supplies “Plus” Central Ave. (6923 W. Central, Toledo 43617).  Freeze Frame Photos is donating time to take the photos and Kohne Camera & Photo is donating the printing, allowing 100% of the proceeds to benefit Humane Ohio.  Children and family photos are welcome too (with or without a pet, with or without Santa).  Photos will be taken on a first come, first serve basis.

Humane Ohio receives private donations and grants – and holds fundraisers like “Pet Photos with Santa” – that help subsidize the true, higher cost of spay/neuter procedures and keep prices low for clients.

Humane Ohio also urges people and organizations to hold pet food drives for Humane Ohio’s Pet Food Bank or to purchase and donate pet food at Pet Supplies “Plus” when they come for Santa Photos.  The food bank makes pet food available to pet owners in need and to people caring for free-roaming cats (in Lucas, Wood and Monroe counties).  This program has distributed almost 60,000 pounds of pet food this year and helps make sure pets and stray cats do not go hungry.

Holiday gifts that give back are another way people can help Humane Ohio continue to offer needed services to the community.  The FanClubCard (get great deals at the area’s most popular businesses), a one year subscription to The Bark magazine and the purchase of Fur-Ever Home, the Animal Rescue Board Game (players work together to take in animals off the streets while not running out of money) all benefit Humane Ohio, and all cost $30 or less. Visit the “Effortless Giving” section of www.humaneohio.org (under “Ways to Donate”) for more information.
