TMACOG hosting reception in Ottawa County The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments (TMACOG) is inviting business and community leaders in the county to a reception May 25 from 5-7 p.m., at the Camp Perry Lodging and Conference Center on State Route 2 in Port Clinton.
Lieutenant Colonel Barbara Herrington-Clemens will discuss Camp Perry's history and its military role in the 21st Century. She is the Joint Training Center garrison commander and is responsible for the full-time operations of the post and its garrison staff.
TMACOG and its members address issues such as transportation planning for highways, rail, and bikes and pedestrians, and environmental planning for water and air quality.
RR crossings closed Norfolk and Southern has notified the Ottawa County engineer’s office that railroad crossings will be closed for repairs starting May 16.
The crossings are located on Graytown Road, between Moline-Martin and Trowbridge roads; on Lickert-Harder Road, between True and Toussaint roads, and on Benton-Carroll road, between Schiller and Bier roads.
The crossings are scheduled to re-open May 20 but no traffic, including emergency vehicles and buses, will be allowed through the construction areas during the work.
B-C-S board special meeting There will be a special meeting of the Benton-Carroll-Salem Board of Education May 18 at 6 p.m. in the board office, 11685 West State Rt. 163, Oak Harbor.
