Comments accepted on regional water plan
The Toledo Metropolitan Area Council of Governments will accept comments on the region’s water quality management plan until June 7 at 5 p.m.
The plan, which is required by the Clean Water Act, covers Lucas, Ottawa, Sandusky, and Wood counties in Ohio; and Bedford, Erie, and Whiteford townships of Monroe County, Mich.
It includes agreements on how jurisdictions will construct and maintain sewer systems and water treatment facilities and how septic systems and sewer problems will be managed.
TMACOG held a meeting last week to offer the public a chance to review planned changes to the planning document, which is updated when communities embark on development projects or when municipalities join together to build a sewer system.
The plan and revisions are posted on the TMACOG website. To comment contact Kurt Erichsen, Vice President of Environmental Planning, at (419) 241-9155, ext. 126.
The updated plan will be presented to the TMACOG Board of Trustees for approval at the board’s June 8 meeting.
The Wood County Board of Commissioners has scheduled two public hearings to consider proposed amendments to the administrative code for the county’s building inspection department.
The hearings are scheduled for May 18 and 25 at 11 a.m. in the commissioner’s office in the fifth floor of the county office building, Bowling Green.
Most of the changes are related to the permit fees for manufactured housing and are available for review on the commissioners’ website: www.co.wood.oh.us/commissioners.
They may also be viewed during business hours at the commissioners’ office.
