veterans to come to the school for a special Veterans Day program.

The program began with Christ Dunberger Post of the American Legion posting the colors, followed by Coy Boy Scouts leading the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance, and a moment of silence.

The fourth grade then shared a poem titled, “Just a Common Soldier,” by A. Lawrence Vaincourt and some fifth-grade students read essays they had written on the topic of, “What Freedom Means to Me.”

The program continued with the playing of “Armed Service Medley.” As each service song played, the veterans stood to be recognized.

The program concluded with each student introducing the veteran he or she brought to the program and a presentation of flag pins.
