Voting sites for 3 Walbridge precincts changed

Voters in three precincts in the Village of Walbridge will be casting their ballots at different locations in the November election.

Residents in the village precincts 430 and 432, who had been voting at the St. Jerome School gym, will vote at the Lake Township Fire Station 1, 4505 Walbridge Rd.

Precinct 420 voters, who also had been voting at St. Jerome’s, will vote at the Lake Township administration building, 27975 Cummings Road.

Deborah Hazard, a director of the Wood County Board of Elections, said the school administration didn’t give the board permission to use the gym as a voting site for the election.

After a representative of the board of elections inspected the fire station, the Lake Township trustees last week authorized the use of the fire station for voting and agreed to spend up to $950 to upgrade walkways at the station to make them compliant with Americans with Disabilities Act regulations.

The township administration building is already used as a voting site for precinct 390.

In the City of Northwood, voters in precinct 830 will be voting at Northwood Unity U.M. Church, 1910 E. Broadway.

The elections board had previously used Lark Elementary School as a voting site.

Hazard said the school administration has been asking the board to find another site.

Polling locations for three Bowling Green precincts are also changing: precincts 110 and 144 had used the Simpson Building operated by the city parks and recreation department but will now vote at BG Church of the Nazarene, 15342 Gomil Rd.

Precinct 101 voters will vote at the Wood County Library, 251 N. Main St. instead of Bowling Green Jr. High.

In Weston, voters in precincts 999 and 980 will cast ballots at the Weston American Legion, 13180 Main St. Previously, they voted at the Weston Library.

According to the elections board Website, the change in polling locations is permanent.
