B-C-S fills vacancies
To fill vacancies in the administration, the Benton-Carroll-Salem school board has tapped two people from the Fremont City School District.
The board last week agreed to hire Laramie Spurlock as assistant principal at Oak Harbor Middle School.
Spurlock was the assistant principal at Fremont Middle School. He will assume his duties in Oak Harbor in August.
He is replacing Donald Christie, who has taken a position with the Perrysburg City School District.
Cheryl Schell will take the helm as principal at Oak Harbor High School, replacing Keith Thorbahn, who was promoted to the district’s director of administrative services.
Schell had worked in the Fremont district for 25 years, most recently as assistant principal at the high school.
Guy Parmigian, B-C-S superintendent, said Schell also has experience as a teacher.
“Mrs. Schell is very excited about her new leadership role and will bring a wealth of student-centered leadership experience to our high school,” he said.
Kevin Slates has submitted his resignation as treasurer of the Woodmore Local School District.
The school board accepted his resignation during a special meeting on July 8.
The board has rescheduled its regular monthly meeting to July 21 at 6:30 p.m. at Woodmore High School, Fremont Street, Elmore.
