It’s time to start planning for the summer, and the STARS program is getting ready, too.
Woodmore’s Community Learning Center STARS program is a before and after school and summer enrichment program for children entering kindergarten through sixth grade students housed right in the elementary school building. The program provides child care assistance from 6:30 a.m. until the start of school and from the end of the school day until 6 p.m., while adding homework assistance and enrichment activities to children after school hours.
This year’s summer theme of “Seussville” is sure to be exciting for students in the Woodmore STARS program. They be participating in activities and taking field trips based on the summer theme, including visiting the Fremont “dungeon” and Imagination Station and participating in lots of fun summer activities.
On Tuesdays, STARS students will take a weekly field trip, and on Fridays they will go to the Woodville pool for swimming and field games.
Parents may sign children up for the weekly program or just one or two field trips for a fun summer “adventure.”
During the summer, STARS became available on the Monday after school gets out for summer break from 6:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. The summer program is five days a week (closed July 4) and will last until the Friday before school opens for the following school year. The program is pro-rated for a family’s income and size.
