The Ottawa County board of commissioners at a recent meeting approved three agreements providing services for senior citizens in 2009.
The board approved an agreement with Grace Evangelical Church in Elmore for the church to continue as a senior nutrition meals program site at a cost of $63 per day of use.
The agreement will be in effect Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2009 and will be renewed for another year with the consent of both parties.
The commissioners also approved a funding agreement with Area Office on Aging of Northwest Ohio, which will provide home delivered meals, nutrition education, and a dining site for seniors.
The agreement will be in effect for 2009 and will cost the county $151, 498.
Another agreement with the Put-in-Bay Township trustees was also approved. The county will lease space at 196 Concord Ave. for the Put-in-Bay Senior Center but the trustees are donating the space as a contribution valued at $2,838 per month.
The agreement will be in effect for 2009.
In other business, the commissioners approved the appointment of Mark Stahl to the Local Emergency Planning Commission Board effective Jan. 1 – Aug. 14, 2009.
Mr. Stahl, an Allen Township trustee who won a seat on the county board of commissioners in the November election, will fill the unexpired term of Carl Koebel on the emergency planning board.
