Three people were injured Monday in a two-vehicle accident on State Route 795 at the northbound on-ramp of I-280 in Lake Township.
According to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Dennis Miller, 66, Millbury, was driving west on Rout 795 and hit the passenger side door of an eastbound vehicle that had turned left in front of him, attempting to enter the on-ramp. The accident occurred about 6 p.m.
The driver of the eastbound vehicle, Rickey Nontell, 50. Toledo, was charged with failure to yield while turning left. Troopers said a passenger in the Nontell vehicle, William Bowie, 33, Toledo, was seriously injured and transported by Life-Flight to St. Vincent’s Mercy Medical Center.
Miller received minor injuries and was transported by Lake Township Emergency Medical Service to Bay Park Hospital and Nontell was transported by Lake Towship to St. Vincent’s with minor injuries.
Miller was wearing a seat belt, troopers said, but Nontell and Bowie were not. Alcohol was determined to not be a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
