Lake Township Police Chief Mark Hummer was misquoted in an article in the Sept. 10 issue of The Press regarding the township’s new contract for emergency phone notification service.

The CodeRED Mobile Alert is a free download for those who have iPhones or Androids.  Subscribers will always receive public safety notifications for free. A $4.99 fee is charged for the option to upgrade to the weather warning portion of the service, which provides the subscriber push notifications of weather warnings specific to their exact location, just moments after an alert is issued by The National Weather Service, according to Stephanie Meyers, marketing manager of Emergency Communications Network.
