Consumers find Buying American Not an easy choice

While we take time to celebrate American labor this Labor Day, Press reporters look at the difficulties of buying American-made products. This is best exemplified by the fact that the top two car models with the highest percentage of American-made parts are the Toyota Matrix and the Toyota Avalon, according to the American Automobile Labeling Act.

It has become a global marketplace and while consumers our reporters interviewed prefer to buy American, they weigh that desire against price and availability.

Press reporters also inform you how to determine if the product you are considering buying is American-made and we list a few web sites to help you compile a list of products that provide manufacturing jobs for Americans.

We hope you find some value in this special package of stories and we wish you a happy Labor Day.
