Julie Anne MacKinnon is the wife of a professional hockey scout who travels more than 150 days a year. When Dan’s career brought the two homegrown Canadians to the United States in 1998, the couple and their young family bounced from Ohio to Massachusetts, Ontario to Tennessee before finally settling in Toledo.
Like many “transplants,” she found herself in unfamiliar cities without friends or family to offer support with the care of her two young children.

For Connie Koch, turning 40 meant a time for reflection.
Though she had endured her share of ups and downs and then some throughout her four decades, she decided to mark the occasion with an attitude of gratitude.
As her March 12 birthday approached, she decided to celebrate, not by pampering herself with something special, but by embarking on 40 days of random acts of kindness.

As for me, when something is money-saving, time-saving, and convenient, I’m interested. When all of these are also part of the solutions to the garden problems a gardener has to deal with, you have a winning combo. Every garden at one time or another has bugs, poor soil, plant diseases, critter invasions, etc. and etc. It’s pretty nice when the answer to these problems can be found in your own home.
