The following day, McComb was photographed by Hannah Thomson, a photographer from Vanity Fair, at the Gallery Met in the Metropolitan Opera House in Lincoln Center. Blair Patterson, a renowned global premier makeup artist from Estée Lauder, applied her makeup for the shoot.

Two photographs from that session, along with a short article about the contest, appear in “Vanity Fair.” The story is also be posted online at

“Since I first flipped through a fashion magazine, I’ve dreamed of being in one,” said McComb. “Winning this contest, visiting New York City and appearing in Vanity Fair is a dream come true and an experience I will treasure for the rest of my life.”

While this is McComb's first foray onto the national stage, she has experience modeling locally. In 2010, she won the Toledo Blade's Runway Rivalry contest and a chance to walk in the EPIC Rocks fashion show. She has appeared in materials for Hollywood Casino, Leo Marks Jewelers, F.J. Westcott and Reve Salon & Spa.

“I’ve always been infatuated with fashion. When I was little I thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool to design a new outfit for every day?’” McComb said. “Here in Toledo, I just want to be involved with the industry somehow and blogging about it is a fun way to fulfill that desire.”

A graduate of Bowling Green State University, McComb is an account coordinator at Card Advertising, Inc., a full service advertising agency based in Temperance, Mich.
