With a whole heap of Halloween hi-jinks, the Toledo Zoo’s Pumpkin Path is this region’s favorite family-friendly trick-or-treat alternative.

The Pumpkin Path will welcome little ghouls and boys Oct. 25 and 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. And for the preschool poltergeists, there’s Little Boo at the Zoo Oct. 23 and 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Pumpkin Path, presented by Meijer, features themed trick-or-treat stations, plus a magic show, games and interactive activities that offer a family-friendly alternative to the usual trick-or-treating.
Little Boo, sponsored by Fisher-Price, offers trick-or-treat stations that are ideal for preschoolers, as well as games and Fisher-Price’s giant play area. All of this is done with preschoolers in mind, so it’s sure to delight without the fright.

Additional fees apply for both Pumpkin Path and Little Boo. The cost is $4 for member children who trick-or-treat, and $10 for non-member children (this price includes zoo admission). For more information, call 419-385-5721, ext. 2110 or visit

The Toledo Zoo is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located on the Anthony Wayne Trail (US 25), four miles south of downtown Toledo. Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. ID showing proof of residency is required.
