The Walters Family 5K, a run dedicated to the victims of the June 5, 2010 tornado will be held June 4 in Millbury.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the scholarship fund established in memory of Ryan, Mary and Hayden Walters, who lost their lives as a result of the tornado.
The run will step off at 8 a.m. from the Millbury Fire Station, 1911 Ayers Rd., Millbury. Runners age 10 and up will compete in various age groups. Awards will be presented to the top three finishers in each age division.
Pre-registration postmarked by May 28 is $20. Registration completed on June 2 at Second Sole in Levis Commons in Perrysburg is also $20. Race day registration, which opens at 6:30 a.m., is $25.
Registration information, along with checks payable to Ryan, Mary and Hayden Walters Scholarship Fund may be mailed to Mark Beck, 2219 Pheasant Dr., Northwood, OH 43619. Include name, sex, age, and address, along with the signature of a parent or guardian for participants who are under 18.
