Women invited to gain a Passport to Better Health

Speakers, health screenings, informational sessions, vendors and more will be a part of the “Passport to Better Health” Women’s Wellness Day, which will be held April 9 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Michigan/Superior Conference Room at Bay Park Community Hospital in Oregon.

Sponsored by the Bay Park Auxiliary, this year’ event – the sixth annual Women’s Wellness Day, will feature a tropical destination theme.

Each attendee will receive a goodie bag, continental breakfast, lunch, education, shopping a free massage.

A variety of health screenings will be offered, including bone density heel screenings, carotid vascular screenings, dexa-bone density (physician’s prescription required) and mammograms (prescription required).

highlighted last year’s “Spring into
Wellness” Women’s Wellness Day

Speakers for the event include Dr. Daniel Barrows, who will discuss “Health Thru the Ages,” Dr. Mounir Elkhatib, who will present “Destination - No Diet” – what changes a women should make in her diet as she journeys through life and Suzi Perlaky, of the YMCA, who will present “Movin’ & Travelin’” – what exercises one can do to avoid fatigue, cramps, etc., during travel.

In addition, a number of vendors will be on hand to showcase their products and services.

Admission is $25 and $20 for seniors, Bay Park Auxiliary members and hospital employees. All proceeds raised will benefit the auxiliary’s projects to support the hospital.
