Lucas County Children Services (LCCS), with support from BCSN, is sponsoring a video contest for Child Abuse Prevention Month in April.
The contest is open to students living in or attending high school in Lucas County. The theme is, How Can I Prevent Child Abuse? Students and student groups are invited to create and submit a 30-second commercial addressing that theme.
Entries will be judged for their creativity, originality and appropriateness. The winning commercial will be incorporated into the agency's Child Abuse Prevention Month media campaign in April.
The group or individual submitting the winning entry will also receive a $400 gift card, and the runner-up will receive a $100 gift card. Entries should be submitted in Quicktime or Windows Media Player format on a DVD no later than March 15. Information, rules and submission forms are available on the agency's website at www.lucaskids.net. “Our local high school students are amazingly perceptive and resourceful,” says Dean Sparks, executive director of Lucas County Children Services. “We're looking forward to seeing how they use their creativity and skill with video technology to help us get the message out that child abuse is unacceptable in our community,”
