More than 25 years ago, the original founders of what was to become Otterbeinotterbein-drawing Portage Valley in Pemberville dreamed of a nursing home for area residents. The founders likely never imagined what would become of the 167-acre campus, including establishment of independent living and assisted living areas.

Otterbein Portage Valley is celebrating spring with new construction. On April 20, shovels will dig in to begin construction of a new 2,000-square foot Life Enrichment Center that will include gathering/meeting space, fitness areas and computer and coffee café. The building’s design, with its many windows, will offer an expansive view watching natural surroundings and wildlife.

The projected completion date for the project is Sept. 1.

For more information about Otterbein Portage Valley or the new Life Enrichment Center, call Jessica Derkis, marketing director at 419-833-8917.
