Memorial Health Care System’s latest construction project began the week of January 4, when employees from Mosser Construction began renovating space in the hospital that was previously used to store medical records.
The renovation will create space for the Women’s Diagnostic Center, which will feature digital mammography, a DEXA (bone density) scanner and ultrasound capability.
According to Memorial Hospital Imaging Director Karen Darr, “We are extremely excited about this project; digital mammography is an excellent addition to Memorial’s health-care services.”
Construction of the 1,200 square-foot space will take approximately 10 to 12 weeks and cost approximately $600,000, including the new equipment.
