Bertz Cheerleading Competition in 2010 are

Genoa Area High School.

The competition is held each year  in memory of Genoa cheerleading coach, Stella Bertz, who succumbed to cancer in February 2003.

Stella continues to live in the hearts of many through her family, her friends, and community and through the non-profit organization established to honor her memory.

Funds from the competition are distributed to three noteworthy causes. Fifteen percent goes directly to the American Cancer Society. In fact, in the past five years, the competition has donated approximately $25,500 to the America Cancer Society. Other funds collected will be donated to purchase new equipment for the Genoa School Cheerleaders with the remaining contributed to the Stella Bertz Memorial Scholarship fund, an academic scholarship awarded yearly to Genoa cheerleaders.
