Looking for a place to let your hair down and dance to some country music?

How about a place with great food at good prices? Maybe you just need some time to hang with your buds and watch some football without driving your significant other insane?

Luckily, Yeeha's Buckin’ Bar and Grill, located at 3150 Navarre Ave., in Oregon, offers all of the above.

Opened in October of 2008, Yeeha’s has quickly become the place to eat, drink, dance and watch sports of all sorts. It has become exactly what owner, Rob Johnson set out to make it.

“I always have had an interest in owning a restaurant and bar and this was a great location to do it,” Johnson said. “I really felt that Oregon needed something like this so I just jumped in when the building was for sale.”

Yeeha’s is first and foremost a country western hangout. According to Johnson, it is “Northwest Ohio’s only full-service country western restaurant, sports bar, dance club and event center.”

As a restaurant, Yeeha’s offers a large menu of mostly home-cooked, fresh made foods at reasonable prices. “We offer everything from steaks, salads and sandwiches to seafood, walleye and perch,” Johnson said. “Almost everything is made from scratch. We have a big menu but not a ton of gourmet food like fancy pastas. It is all just really good food, nice sized portions, and at a great price.”

Yeeha’s serves a wide variety of appetizers including Yeeha’s mini Angus slider burgers and “Wild West Wings” in a variety of sauces from mild, barbecue, and butter garlic to “Desert Sun Hot” for the more adventurous eaters. Being a country western restaurant, Yeeha’s also has slow-roasted and dry-rubbed baby back ribs as well as a “Boxing Bob’s BBQ Combo” which includes a half rack of ribs, a chicken breast and a pork chop.

Chicken chunks, Buffalo chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, a large variety of wraps and salads can also be found. Kids’ meals are all $2.99.

“Our menu is not all fried foods,” Johnson said. “Our chicken is cut fresh, and we make almost everything here. We also offer healthier foods like wraps and salads and lots of grilled foods. We serve the best of the best because I buy the best. It just tastes better.”

Looking for a place to eat during your busy lunch break? Yeeha’s offers four items, (BLT, chicken chunks, pulled pork sandwich, or two Coney dogs), in four minutes for $4.

“The lunch specials are great for people who are working, and it has gone over very well,” Johnson said.

As an entertainment destination, Yeeha’s offers a wide variety of entertainment seven days a week.

Every Sunday, Yeeha’s has a car show. Mondays include pool tournament, corn hole tournaments and a DJ; and on Tuesdays there is always live entertainment. Wednesdays are karaoke nights and Thursdays are Ladies Nights, complete with drink specials and a DJ. Live bands take the stage every Friday and Saturday.

“We have over 50 different bottled and draft beers to choose from and we price them well all of the time,” Johnson said. “We also have pool tables and many video games to choose from.”

As a sports bar, Yeeha’s has 16 high definition, independently tuned TVs throughout the restaurant. “We can tune in to any game or sports program someone wants to watch,” Johnson said. “We are able to get every college or pro game.”

During the fall and winter, Yeeha’s is the place to practice your sideline coaching skills while watching football, NASCAR, basketball and hockey.

“If you wear your team gear on Saturdays and Sundays you will get a discount on food and all bottled beers are $1.50,” Johnson said. “We have a lot of fun here and we always have a good crowd.”

And if you find that you have had waaaaaay too much fun, Yeeha’s will make sure that you and your buds get home safe.

“If you have too much to drink we will get you home safely,” Johnson said. “We have a free shuttle so you do not have to wait for a cab. If you have a group of people planning to go out and have a great time, we will go and pick you up and take you home. We want people to have fun but safety is always first.”

Johnson suggests that those who want to party with a group of friends call ahead and make a reservation for the 15-passenger van. From Thursday through Saturday, reservations are not needed.

“We offer the service to anyone within a 20 to 30 mile radius,” he said. “We have logged roughly 2,000 trips in the van since we opened.”
