Fish sale under way
The Lucas Soil & Water Conservation District is offering pond owners an affordable and convenient way to stock their ponds through the district’s Annual Fish Sale.
Fish fingerlings will be delivered in an aerator tank truck from Fender’s Fish Hatchery in Baltic, Ohio, Tuesday, May 20, from 10-11 a.m. at the district’s office at 130-A West Dudley St., Maumee.
A variety of fish are available, including bluegill, channel catfish, largemouth bass, yellow perch, redear sunfish, fathead minnows and white amur.
Fish are guaranteed to be delivered in good condition. Pond owners should bring their own containers lined with a clean trash bag half-filled with pond water. Containers should be filled as close to pick-up time as possible to prevent drastic temperature changes in the water, which can cause shock to fish during transportation.
Fish are guaranteed to be delivered in good condition. The deadline for ordering is Tuesday, May 13. Call 1-800-547-0272 for more information.
