Hitting a $100,000 jackpot would normally be a once-in-a-lifetime event, but for a local Oregon man that was just the beginning.
Martin Halka, 42, of Oregon, held the record for the largest jackpot won in the history of Hollywood Casino Toledo – until the afternoon of July 9, when he broke his own record and hit a $250,000 jackpot on a Triple Diamond game.
Halka couldn’t believe it when he saw three triple diamonds stop on the pay line. “It took me a couple seconds to realize what was happening. You always hope to hit the big one, but never expect it to actually happen,” he said.
Halka and his wife Darcie plan to use the money to expand their concrete company, Bay Area Concrete based in Oregon.
Hollywood Casino Toledo’s General Manager, Richard St. Jean was thrilled about the record-setting jackpot. “We love seeing winners at Hollywood Casino, especially one as big as this,” he said.
Since opening on May 29, 2012, Hollywood Casino Toledo has paid out over $46 million in jackpots.
