The Sandusky County fairgrounds will be bustling with excitement as it is transformed into a Holiday “Winter Wonderland” for the two weekends before Christmas.

The celebration will feature a variety of festive scenes and attractions, including displays from local civic and youth organizations, as well as private families, businesses and other exhibitors.

Santa will be welcoming young visitors in “Santa’s Village" Log Cabin each night between 6:30 and 8 p.m.

The Sandusky County Fairgrounds will be transformed into a festive winter
wonderland for the two weekends before Christmas. Proceeds raised and
donations collected will benefit the Sandusky County Food Bank.

Admission is $1 per person or a donation of a non-perishable food item to benefit the Sandusky County Food Pantry.

Enter Winter Wonderland from the fairgrounds’ North Street entrance, and enjoy a winter walk through the Christmas displays set up throughout the fairgrounds.

Hours are Thursday and Sunday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m.

Other highlights include sleigh and horse rides, children’s crafts, a craft show (Dec. 14 and 15), Christmas carolers, and refreshments including hot chocolate and cookies.

The event is being hosted by the Sandusky County Junior Fair Board and the Agricultural Society. “Wonderland” level sponsors include Fremont Fence & Guard Rail Co., Crown Battery, The Andersons Farm Center, Carbo Forge, Inc., and Fremont Federal Credit Union.

According to Junior Fair Coordinator Danyelle Lantz, organizers are hoping to make this an annual event with admission fees benefiting local charities. Lantz said they are hoping for a big turnout from the public to make the inaugural Winter Wonderland a big success.

Anyone interested in further information about helping with the event, or becoming a sponsor for the event, may contact Lantz at the Junior Fair office by calling 419-332-1972 or emailing her at
