Once again, the Wood County Fair will offer something for everyone, with

livestock exhibits, a parade, arts and crafts, antique farm machinery, harness racing, entertainment, tractor and truck pulls, rides and more planned throughout the week. The 2010 fair will run Aug. 3 to 9 at the Wood County Fairgrounds, 13800 West Poe Rd., Bowling Green.
One of the most familiar names and voices in country music, Kenny Rogers, will headline this year’s grandstand entertainment. Rogers’ tour, including his visit to Bowling Green, will be featured in an upcoming TV show, “Kenny Rogers: The First 50 Years.”
Rogers will perform Aug. 7 at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 for the remainder of the track and $20 for grandstand seats. Call 419-352-0441 for more information.

and 15, offers festivalgoers a trip to the Old Country, highlighting Hungarian music, food and heritage.
The actual festival will be held Sunday from noon to 9 p.m. on Consaul Street in Toledo’s Birmingham neighborhood, but there are plenty of pre-festival events planned for those anxious to get the celebration started.
Pre-festival events planned for Saturday include a children’s craft center, a Hungarian folk mini dance workshop for children, the Annual Waiter’s Race, a Tanchaz (Hungarian dance gathering), and the Celebrity Pickle-Eating Contest. A variety of food and beverages will be available.

Packo and current Oregon resident Bess Packo, are included in the 92nd Annual Toledo Area Artists’ Exhibition, on display in the Toledo Museum of Art’s Works on Paper Galleries.
The show, which is on display through Aug. 22, features 103 works of art in various media, chosen from 789 entries.
Packo’s works, both taken with an iPhone camera, feature East Side locations. “Neighbors” depicts the East Toledo Historical Society at Navarre Park with a view of the Sun Oil Company as a background and “Twig Dance” was taken at Maumee Bay State Park.
