Author invites supporters to help in novel-writing sprint

Local author Glenn Sasscer is participating in the National Novel Writers Month challenge to write a novel in 30 days, and he is inviting interested followers to help name the characters, places, and character interests.

By following along at followers can suggest character names, backgrounds, what kind of cars characters drive, what they eat and other elements.

Beginning Nov. 1, more than 100,000 people from all over the globe will begin by sitting in front of what may be for some, the most paralyzing challenge facing any writer: a blank page.
Oregon Community Theatre presents Peter Pan the Musical

Oregon Community Theatre will open its 2008-2009 season with a two-weekend run of Peter Pan the Musical, a family show that’s sure to delight audiences of all ages with its memorable songs, spectacular flying and its familiar characters - Peter Pan and his Lost Boys from Neverland; Captain Hook, Smee and all the Pirates; the Darling children and Nana; and Tiger Lily and Tinkerbell.

The production is under the direction of Kevin Wietrzykowski, assisted by Elizabeth Gibson. It’s being choreographed by Jennifer Knapp.
Cheers! Everybody knows everybody at the Limestone Tavern

What do the famous bar Cheers and the Limestone Tavern have in common? Many things, actually, from the laid-back owner to their cast of regulars, the folks at Limestone are proud to say they are quite similar to the immortalized TV bar.

“It’s one of those bars where you come in and everybody knows everybody,” owner Robert Lajti said.

Located off SR 590 in Oak Harbor, Limestone Tavern was taken over by Lajti the first of the year. It was a dream come true for him.
