Performance promises an entertaining “Elixir”
The Pemberville Freedom Area Historical Society will present “Elixir” in concert

April 10 at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Pemberville Opera House. The performance is part of the ongoing “Live in the House” concert series.

What can audiences expect? Imagine Peter, Paul and Mary playing songs of the 1800s. Or a Beach Boys version of “Skip to My Lou.” What would a reggae version of “Down in the Valley” sound like?

Just about everyone is familiar with what happened when Dorothy – and her

little dog, too – was transported on her whirlwind adventure to Oz.

But long before Dorothy dropped in, two other girls meet in the land of Oz.

One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. 

“Wicked” is the story of their remarkable odyssey and how these two unlikely friends grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.

The musical, the most anticipated musical production of the 2009-2010 Lincoln Mercury Broadway Series, landed at the Stranahan Theater March 31 and will run through April 18.
