From half-price admission to terrific family fun, the Toledo Zoo offers hot deals all winter long. Visit the Zoo’s website, www.toledozoo.org, for more information about these and other upcoming events.
Winter fun events include:
• Every Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 7-Feb. 26 – Hot Deals at Winter Weekends. Every weekend offers cool new activities in warm places, from magic and puppet shows to local dance groups and hands-on science.
• Every Saturday: Jan. 7, 14, 21, and 28 – Ice Carving, 11 a.m. Ice carvers transform huge blocks of ice into shimmering sculptures every Saturday.
• Every Saturday and Sunday in January: Cabin Fever Feeds – What’s your favorite animal? From sharks and vultures to reptiles and orangutans, they all need to eat – and visitors get to watch.
• Jan. 14: Winter Science Day – Nature’s Neighborhood, the Zoo’s award-winning children’s zoo, is open year-round and brimming with creative learning -- from snow to heat.
Jan. 14- Jan. 16: Free Zoo admission for Lucas County residents. In appreciation of Lucas County voters’ levy support, Lucas County residents are admitted free. Valid proof of residency required.
• Every Saturday and Sunday Jan. 14-Feb. 26 – Bounce Houses. Enjoy indoor bouncing fun at the Zoo’s Museum of Science.
• Jan. 21: Vineyard Adventure, 7-9 p.m. – Ages 21 & up will enjoy a delectable mix of wine tasting, hors d’oeuvres, live music and socializing inside the cozy Arctic Encounter.
•Jan. 28: “Wild in the Winter” Children’s Class, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Children ages 7-11 will explore the Zoo with all its winter white wonders. Meet animals, make crafts, drink cocoa and discover the marvels of a cold climate.

Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. ID showing proof of residency is required.
