The family Nativity set has long been a special part of the Christmas season in Christian homes around the world. The popular Christmas display, as we know it, dates back to the 13th century, but it has only become a common fixture alongside the Christmas tree and wreath in the last 100 years.

Pastor Pete Johnston will host the 7th Annual Nativity Scene Display Monday, Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Otterbein Portage Valley in Pemberville. Residents and staff of Otterbein Portage Valley will share their Nativity sets with the community as a wonderful and thoughtful way to begin the Christmas season.

Pastor Johnston is chaplain to Otterbein Portage Valley as well pastor to Faith United Methodist Church in Luckey and Pemberville United Methodist Church in Pemberville. He has been called to and loves working with seniors and their families.
