Romance will be in the air as The Hayes Presidential Center presents its inaugural Verandah Concert of the season June 8.

Members of the Fremont Community Theatre will perform “The Ups and Downs of Broadway Romances” during the concert, which begins at 7 p.m. The musical production will feature a collection of songs about happy and rocky romances straight from the stages of Broadway. Admission to the concert is free, thanks to sponsorship from Fremont Federal Credit Union.

As always, an old-fashioned ice cream social will precede the concert. Serving will start at 6:45 p.m. Concert attendees are reminded to bring their own seats and to come prepared for the weather. Verandah Concerts are held twice a month – on Wednesday evenings - in June, July, and August. Other concerts in the 2011 season include:
