“Urinetown”
Rossford High School, under the direction of Julie Zatko, will present the 2003 Tony Award winning musical, “Urinetown” April 14 to 17 at the school, located at 701 Superior St. Curtain time is 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday and 2 p.m. Sunday.

Despite a suggestive title, “Urinetown” is a G-rated, very family friendly political satire that skewers the classics of American musical theater, as well as our government and large corporations.

In a grim Gotham-like city, a 20-year drought has occurred. As a result, the government has banned private toilets and the citizens must use pay-to-pee toilets regulated by a monopolistic company, the Urine Good Company, which charges exorbitant prices. Bobby Strong, the assistant custodian at the poorest urinal in town, decides enough is enough. With the help of the daughter of the CEO of the Urine Good Company, Hope Cladwell, Bobby ends up leading a social rebellion which frees the citizens and allows them to “pee for free.”

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and senior citizens. Call Melissa at 419-662-5474 for tickets or more information.

Civil War: Battlefield & Homefront
The Hayes Presidential Center will launch its new exhibit, “Civil War: Battlefield & Homefront” April 12.

The exhibit, which commemorates the 150th anniversary of the Civil War, is on display through Jan. 29. It relates the war experiences of both soldiers and civilians. Personal letters and artifacts from such individuals shed new light on the far-reaching toll of the war. Many items included in the exhibition never have been on display before. They are on loan from the L.M. Strayer Collection.

Civil War: Battlefield & Homefront is on display 9 a.m. to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday and noon to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $7.50 for adults, $6.50 for senior citizen (age 60+), and $3 for children ages 6 to 12. Major funding for the exhibit is provided by Diversified Insurance and Auto-Owners Insurance .
