Is your favorite stuffed pal in need of some TLC?
Whether you have a teddy bear, a monkey or even a unicorn or other rare creature, bring it to the Toledo Zoo March 19 between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. for a check-up and repairs, if necessary.
For those who may be ready to adopt a live animal pal, the Toledo Area Humane Society will be on hand from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Museum of Science to help find just the right cat or dog. The day’s events will also include zoo keeper talks, puppet shows and other special activities. The schedule includes:
10:15 a.m. – Sloth Bear Enrichment, Sloth Bear Exhibit
11 a.m. - Shark Feed, Aquarium
11:15 a.m. – Rhinoceros Hornbill Enrichment, Aviary
11:45 a.m. – Crocodile Feed, Reptile House
12 p.m. – Puppet Show, Museum’s Indoor Theatre
1 p.m. - Octopus Feed, Aquarium
1 p.m. – Puppet Show, Museum’s Indoor Theatre
1:30 p.m. – Polar Bear Enrichment, Arctic Encounter®
2 p.m. – Vulture Enrichment, Vulture Exhibit
2:30 p.m. – Meet the Veterinary Department, Museum’s Indoor Theatre
2:30 p.m. – Snake Feed, Reptile House
3 p.m. - Amphibian Feed, Amazing Amphibians
Visit the zoo’s Museum of Science to meet the Animal Behavior Department from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and the Commissary Department from 1 to 2 p.m.
In addition, there will be a “Meet the Keeper” talk at 1:45 p.m. in Nature’s Neighborhood. At 3:30 p.m., the zoo’s program staff will invite visitors to meet the Nature’s Neighborhood birds while they feed all our exhibit birds at the aviary.

Lucas County residents are admitted free of charge each Monday from 10 a.m. to noon. ID showing proof of residency is required.
