Annual event promises grub, suds and a whole lot more

As the name implies, there will be food, beer and a whole lot more at the 14th Annual Grub `N Suds Sept. 11 from 10 a.m.

 to 8 p.m. in Elmore’s Depot Park. Co-sponsors for the event are the Elmore Historical Society, in cooperation with A.B.A.T.E. Of Ohio Region #7.

All food and drinks will be available a la carte – there will be no wristbands sold this year. Food will be served beginning at 11 a.m.

Registration will be accepted until 11 a.m. for the Bike Show. Public judging will be conducted from 10 a.m. to noon. Bikes will be judged in six classes – custom, historical, cruisers, sport, rat and touring. A Parade of Champions will be held during the band break from 3 to 5 p.m. at the stage.

Sign-in for the Headless Motorcyclist Poker Run will be at 10 a.m. There is a $10 registration fee. The last bike will be in by 2 p.m. The first 100 to sign in will receive a Grub `N Suds mug. Coffee and donuts will be available for purchase at the Gray Barn-Museum before the run.

Musical entertainment will include “Free Beer” playing classic rock from noon to 3 p.m. and “Special Guest,” also playing classic rock, from 5 to 8 p.m.

From 3 to 5 p.m., there will be Bike Games ($2 registration), including Bite the Dog, Potato in the Straw, Slow Rider, Egg Drop and Keg Roll. Plaques will be awarded to winners.
